  1. The best essential for DIY home cleaning products are: peppermint, grapefruit, lemon, eucalyptus, lavender, tea tree and rosemary.
  2. Since essential oils have the power to quickly absorb into human’s skin, this makes them the perfect 100% natural product that has the power to heal, soften, and nourish the skin.
  3. Many scientific studies have indicate that rosemary essential oil can help our brain perform. These studies have also showed that the group of people who inhaled rosemary essential oil were more relaxed than the others who hasn’t inhaled an odor at all.
  4. When it comes to essential oils experts state that there is a BIG difference between fragrance and essential. As a rule of thumb, if you see the word “fragrance”, “fragrance oil” or even “perfume” on any product, be sure that you are dealing with a synthetic and NOT natural fragrance.
  5. Did you know that it takes 1 814369 grams of Bulgarian roses to produce 453 grams of essential oil? Pretty amazing, right?
  6. If you want to see if your essential oil is “pure” or not, you can test it by putting one drop of it on a piece of construction paper. If the oil disappears quickly and leaves no evident ring mark on the paper, then it is pure, but if there is a ring mark on the paper, this means that the oil is already diluted by the manufacturer.
  7. You should avoid using undiluted essential oils on your skin because of their higher concentration. Instead, you should combine them with “real” oils or also known as carrier oils like alcohol, butter, wax or other diluting measures.
  8. You should also avoid using undiluted essential oils on a baby or child. Since they have much thinner and more delicate skin than adults, they are extremely sensitive to the potency of essential oils. However, there are some that can be used, but only a half dosage of the one in the prescribed recipe.
  9. If you are pregnant or nursing avoid using the following essential oils : chamomile, cinnamon, cedarwood, aniseed, ginger, clove, clary sage, lemon, jasmine, sage, nutmeg, rosemary.
